Ipod questions if ya don't mind;

1) Does the ipod have a line out - or is there a function to make the headphone socket act as a PROPER line out? (so it can be plugged into a hifi).

2) What's the deal with CD's which are MIXED (no gap bwteen tracks). Will the player/itunes split the tracks and play a gap or can it link tracks seamlessly?
