"Ships before 29th Jan" sadly....even more so that I'm on holiday until the 24th! Oh well.

Went for the 1.4GHz with 512Mb (so maybe I'll hold off breaking my warranty! For a little while anyway), BT and AE, Combo drive (I have a FW enclosure already, and a DVD burner that I can put in it...). £539. Could have got a 3GHz dell with a Gb of RAM, but hey, why would I want to do that :-)
    Well Hello!

Coco, tried FireFox? I used that, seems to timeout "better" than Maxthon (i.e. IE)

The only thing I'd say is that............
iDVD didn't support external DVD writers etc.

Now this may have changed with iLife '05 but I don't know.

Other than that.... enjoy it, although you could have it delivered here if you're on holiday?

I'm pretty sure the point of these isn't to fill them with upgrades and push the price up, but what do I know

Thats the point, I won't BE on holiday when it arrives :-(

£540 isn't too bad IMO, better than an eMac in that I can put whatever size monitor on it I want (next job - monitor shopping!), I've been after another Mac since I sold my G3 iBook (just too slow with Jaguar...this is twice the MHz AND a G4). In fact, I sold my iBook months ago for £450 or so I think, and haven't spent the money!

If its nice and quiet...I will enjoy it :-)

*edit* and I'm not fussed about iDVD..I'm about as artistic as a concrete factory!

*edit2* Hmm just figured out it has only ONE DIMM slot

Yeah, I want it with the APXtreme tho, and the Bluetooth options.
So hence can't just walk into anywhere and buy one, not that there will be any for Agggggeeeesssssss!!!!

Fair enough. Shame Apple can't cope with the load that an expo always brings. It should recover later this evening though.

There won't be any PB updates until they get the G5 sorted for them.

    Prolly September now.

It's gonna be done at a "big event" simply because of the "G5 in a laptop" wow factor.
