    iBook G4, Panther --> Tiger.

    I am running a 1.2Ghz Ibook, 512Mb RAM, Radeon 9200 (i think) 40Gb HDD with Panther - it's fully updated and it's ticking along nicely.... I also have a mini mac with 1Gb RAM, 80Gb HDD 1.2Ghz i think which has Tiger...

    Tiger is really stable, really pretty but it's a bit "laggy", it's not counter-productive, but it's a slight irritation, having said that i want to put it on my iBook, i will probably go up to 1Gb RAM when i do.. Some of the features of Tiger make it a really appealing choice, but it's going to be a tad slow on the ibook too isn't it? is there anything i can do to speed it up? Or is it just that the little old mini and ibook are underpowered?

    Should i even stick with panther if it's so zippy?

    Cheers

    Dan

    I've got a 400mhz g4 running tiger so you can put it on your ibook and it should be fine

    Tiger is much better than panther

    Tiger is fine on my ibook, although mine is a bit more beefed up - 1.25GB RAM, 80GB HDD
