I'm totally going to crash this HDTV orgy with a nice fishbowl CRT YAY!

I made it in collaboration with Apple and K-Swiss...

My brand new Topfield 250gb TF5800 is sitting on the awesome Asda special £14.99 DVD player. The Toppy is like one of the best gadget I've ever owned ever. Logitech Harmony 525 is the remote next to the Toppy one. 525 should be upgraded to an 885 if Pixmania ever decide to dispatch it. Hopefully getting an LCD TV in August, maybe September.

Just to balance it out, this is where I play Xbox 360.

Usually have Logitech Z5500 set up with them but I can't be bothered sorting them out when I'm only going to be here for another month.

Matt, how does the picture quality compare to the 32WLT66 (IIRC you had one before)? I'm in two minds about upgrading for something bigger like >42". Also how does 720p content look through a 1080p display ? I've always wondered this

i haven't had the chance to give ti a proper going over, but considering i found a price error that brought this in under £800 after quidco i just couldnt resist any longer.

Just been looking at HDDVD players, it seems Tosh has some new ones out in october with VERY keen promotional prices so we will see.

When i get the chance to look at the content I will let you know what its like. interface wise its VERY similar to the 32WLT66 it replaced, but improved in all the niggly areas.

Need to get rid of the Samsung i have now though, 106" of TV in one house is just STUPID.

Tell you what though, im glad I got a 42", any bigger and it would have been too big for the lounge and I would have been sitting too close to it...loved the Grand prix on it, mind you I only just realised yesterday i had set my V+ drive to 720, now its on 1080i it looks much better

    Re: Your HDTV Setups

My new toys. The speaker side of things were based around my old recording studio speakers, but the missus didn't want huge speakers as rears on the window sill so we had to come to a comprimise. Pics below on the link

    http://drive.123-reg.co.uk/17691307

Where to start.. Specs I guess:

    TV: Sony Bravia 40" S2530
    AV Reciever: Sony STR-DA1200ES
    DVD Player: Onn HDMI upscaler
    Centre: Paradigm CC-350
    Fronts: Spirit Absolute 2's
    Rears: Eltax Waves
    Sub: REL Strata II

All AV is connected digitally via HDMI or coax, though the eagle eyed will notice a Wii, which is connected directly to the TV for now with composite. (yuk!)

Soundwise, it took a while to balance it all up, since the fronts are very toppy and crisp compared to the centre, which sounded a touch flat in comparison - not to mention far less sensitive. Still, it's all sorted now, but I don't think the neighbours like it one bit.. Might have something to do with the REL...

    Re: Your HDTV Setups

Here's my new setup, just got Sky HD installed this morning and I'm loving it!

    Technosonic 32" TV
    Sky HD
    Dell Laptop
    Xbox360
    Wii

I'm currently deciding on a new TV (looks like the new 46" samsung F86 is gonna be the winner) and after that I'll be going about sorting the sound system.
