    What tyre

    Had a confrontation with a pot hole. Pot hole 1 - Pirelli P6000 0. Its got a bulge in the sidewall so its gotta go. Tis a shame as there was still a fair amount of tread left.

    The question now is - change 1 or 2. Front or rear. And which tyre to go for. Any advice welcome.

    Should I get a single p6000 as direct replacement. Or any other single tyre. Or should I geat a new pair and maybe go for eagle f1s (such a slutty looking tyre that (imo)).

    You've got a Honda sporty thing haven't you?

    I'd say try something like the Eagle F1 - can't exactly hurt. I have heard good things about some Toyos though, so perhaps worth a look?

    Yea, that would fall under Honda Sporty thing

    Oh, and was the pothole on a main road? if so you may be able to get the council to pay for one or both of the tyres

    I've ordered two eagle f1s for tomorrow. Decided to make the best of the bad situation and at least get some enjoyment out of it.

    It wasn't a main road, but its a popular short cut. I'll definately get them to fix it. Whether I will claim is another matter.

    was about to butt in, and say never buy another ditchfinder (p6000) and get f1 eagles nice job

    and the toyos wear pretty quick from what i have heard, softer compound.

    Bit late, seeing as you've already bought them, but I put 4 Toyo T1R's on my Civic Type-R last week. Much cheaper than the stock Bridgestone Potenzas (£68 ea + fitting versus £115), won't last as long but less road noise and far more grip in the wet.

    Just my 2p worth.

    I've not tried anything other than p6000s on this car, but I found them to be ok. We'll see what f1s feel like. Must not forget that i still have p6000s on the back though lol.

    lol they are such a dire tyre in the wet, good in the dry and last forever though, but dire in the wet.

    everyone on my car forum recomends the f1 eagle as the best upgrade from a p6000 you could do

    Keep the old tyres, strip them back with a stanley knife and Ebay them as 'hand cut track day tyres'...

    Eagle F1 GSD3 everytime... or there might be a new one out? I always struggled with P6000s, especially in the wet on my MX-5 with LSD - span thrice in that one on those :/

    F1s will be under 160 for the pair, not sure of exact price. Getting them fitted tomorrow.

    I will keep the left front as a backup, but the damage in the sidewall of the right front means its gotta be scrapped.

    Will need to get some wheels for track days at some point.

    P6000s are like driving on hardboard.

    If you're looking for a tyre in that kind of bracket (not super sporty, but predictable in wet and dry and good life), The goodyear NCTs are good.
