Been working out the economy in my new car and I averaged 37MPG over the last week, including a long trip up the M1, but it'll probably be slightly less when it's mostly to/from work, but we shall see!

What MPG do you get, and in what car?

Mine's a Honda Accord 2L VTEC

24.5 long term average

2.5 5cyl Volvo, lots of towing, lots of short town driving, lots of abuse

2.5 straight-6 and I get about 24mpg overall average. Cruises at 60mpg at 100 though

2.8 straight 6.. now on 26mpg, was 28 while i was doing a 24 mile round trip a day.

i also get silly high MPG at a ton as well (only 40 tho)

Averaged 34 last week after a few motorway journeys, but it's normally around 24 due to lots of town driving and being stuck in traffic.

This is in a 1.8T.

18 mpg, mostly town driving
24 mpg, mostly motorway driving
14 mpg, if driven enhtusiastically

If you beleive the display, 30.1mpg total average.

If you look how quick it bloody drinks the stuff I reckon in the region of 25mpg.

i got an older bmw, you can put the comp in test mode and see how much you really use when you stamp your foot...


im scared to view that mode again..

Penultimate tank I averaged 65mpg (mixed driving), last tank averaged 60.5mpg which was all commuting.

Astra mk IV 1.7dti

Measured the true 'miles travelled/fuel inserted to fill to brim' having used over 3/4 a tank way. I check at every fill up to keep an eye on things (as the cars getting on a bit now) and it's always been between 55 and 65mpg.

Ive managed 41mpg before, stuck on the A52 at 50mph.

Generally about 34mpg to and from work (A-roads) but if driven round town I struggle to see 28mpg.

Seat Ibiza FR 20VT

I suppose its not bad, but I do wish I bought the 1.9TDI 130 instead. 100Nm more torque and 60mpg!

Dad's 2.7 Boxster - 24-28mpg depending on around town/motorway
Mum's 2.4 D5 V70 - 32+ mpg, again dependant on town or motorway driving
My Varadero - 60-70mpg if ridden sensibly, 40 if trying to keep up with others.

Alfa 156 Mjet 20V - 2.4 5Cyl Diesel - 175Bhp and I get around 40MPG mostly Motorway driving and the trip computer usually shows 75MPH average speed...

I'm currently averaging 6.9L/100Km, so about 34mpg in the gutless 320D I'm driving around here this week.
