I'm stuck - help me choose

Sorry to bring this up again but I done some more research. I've quite keen on the Citroen C2 or C3. I can get both at a decent second hand price of about £3,500 and the insurance isn't very expensive.

Anyone had any experience with them?

My missus thinks the C3 looks like a girls car. Is she right?

Its surely going to break though? I am a fan of the c2 however, very nice looking cars I'd avoid the c3 it firstly looks ugly and is a bit girly looking as well!

Didn't like the C2 last time I was in my mates, was too small. Had to move my leg everytime she wanted to change gear. I'm 6'1" so it's not like I'm the tallest person in the world. Of course, if you're never going to be the passenger then it doesn't matter as much.

and the C2? Maybe the best car I can get in my price range..... It's cheap insurance as well considering its my first car.

Could get a MK4 Astra 1.4/1.6 thats a good example, good mileage and well-kitted for under 3K I'm sure. Try looking at Y/51/02/52 plates.

Just make sure it's a 16v as the 8v's are pants.

Just a thought... I know we've a lot of Vauxhall haters

I haven't found any C2s under about £3,800 on autotrader, so I can't imagine one closer to 3k is gonna be that great. Just get a nice 1.6 Ford Focus, it'll be a waaaaaaay nicer car in every respect. The possible extra cost on insurance will be worth it, but then I hate little tiny hatchbacks

My friend's girlfriend had a c3. They changed it for a clio recently. My friend says its a massive improvement in both driving and reliability. He wouldn't recommend a c3 and he's french Dunno about c2s though.

I'm going to throw a Suzuki Swift into the mix now. I'm willing to up my budget. I drove one the other day and I loved it.

Anyone had any long term experience with one?

The new style presumably? Meant to be as good as or better than the Mini, especially based on price. The old swifts are reliable as well.
