mini cooper as daily car ( new shape )
pug 306 gti-6 for fun
Seat Leon FR TDI 170 (my baby!)
VW Golf GT TDI 170 (just been given as a company car)
Umm.. It would appear that I have two cars hideously similar
"In a world without walls and fences, who needs Windows and Gates?"
If it wasn't for bloody road tax and insurance I'd have 5 or 6 cars. As it is I have one that's currently not got an MOT, and will probably completely rust away before I get round to welding up the one small bit that caused it to fail last time.
I would like a second car to do long economical journeys in - but as rave said - insurance and tax are a killer. Hope mum gets a newer car soon and I can pinch hers if i need to go somewhere at more than 30mpg.
Tough on mirrors, tough on the causes of mirrors.
Vauxhall Vectra 1.8 LS 16V (My Car)
Nissan Micra 1.4 SXE (Dad's car, very cheap to run!!)
Renault Clio 1.2 (Sisters car, the red shed with dents on it)
The Leon by a comfortable mile. For some reason, the Golf just feels like a Golf. It seems to lack character and flair. Plus, it's horribly specced. The Leon has bluetooth, auto wipers & lights, MP3 compatible stereo, IPOD connection, hidden rear handles and so on. The Golf has none of that, it is just a Golf with the same engine as my Leon.
Yep. It's the same floor plan and lots of the switches are the same inside. Shame the Golf feels to dead and lifeless. It's a well put together car, it just doesn't feel as rapid & urgent like the Leon.
I am trying to give the car (the Golf) back this week, I really just want an allowance but I had to take the car last week or have nothing.

Out of the 2 in question id always go leon, only golf that I would go for would be a current gen GTI
Yes but if the golf breaks work pay for it??
If my company car was as fun as my other car then id sell the other one in a shot
Nah, I can't sell the Leon. I love it too much. I just paid it off because it's a real keeper. All I can say is that I find the Leon a lot of fun and I feel like I DRIVE the Leon. I feel like a tiptoe the Golf. It's not my car, it's the companies.
Talked to my boss again today about getting rid of the Golf. We have a new person starting soon who wants a car, looks like I may get shot of it sooner than I thought.. huzzah!
