no no no....torsion bar is a form of suspension where the "strength of a bars ability to resist twist" is used for a spring system
Where as a Strut Brace holds the suspension firmly apart.....normally front, but rear in competition cars too!

On this subject, it's worth pointing out that a coil spring works just like a torsion bar, it twists in reaction to bumps, rather than compresses. Obviously it compresses too, but this is caused by the spring winding itself together.Originally Posted by Zak33

Oh right should have remembered that. No, an MR2 has coils front and rear, the fronts are coilovers (on mine at least), dunno about the rears.
