my favourite recent Vauxhall engine, the 2.2 , has a chain....but they did break a few

Re: Why are car websites so crap?

Okay, I've kind of narrowed it down to:

Ford Mondeo - Cheap (54reg from £5k), common, hundreds of them, 130 TDCi ideally
    Skoda Octavia - Would like new shape 2.0 TDI 140 (54reg £5K - £6k?)
    Nissan Primera - Cheap (54reg from £4k) 2.2DCI 138bhp
    Honda Accord - 04 from £5k with 150k or £6.5k with 80k - so might be slightly over budget. 2.2DCI 138bhp

and I'm even vaguely considering a Vectra, just because they're so dagnabbit cheap, and common:

Vauxhall Vectra - Estate 04reg £4k - may be able to find a cheap 150bhp version?

From all of these, I'm most keen on the Skoda Octavia (new shape hatchback) or Honda Accord Estate...

What are Ford Focus C-Max's like? Seen an '04 136bhp for 4.6k

I guess I'm looking at all the cars that suffer some fairly SERIOUS amounts of depreciation

Whichever you decide to go for, have a look on Pistonheads, seems to be a few quid cheaper than Autotrader for similar models.

Re: Why are car websites so crap?

Well... I've phoned VW, they say that my car was fitted with them as standard. Even though I definitely don't have any of these things: isofix fittings... so presumably I can just go to VW and say "I want these things please"

You can also get that engine in an Alfa 156 Sportwagon.

Or you might not enjoy driving in which case buy something else

(I have an Alfa 166, lovely saloon for so little money).

I wish someone would tell the one on my bike that. Although getting caked in leeds mud aka, grinding paste, doesnt help much I bet.

156s are pretty pokey in the back, I dare say youd fit a baby seat in, but even the estate doesnt have that big a boot.

Re: Why are car websites so crap?

I found the part numbers off this site:
    Isofix Kindersitzhalterung

Bought them from VW Parts (Liverpool) £70 for 2 and screws... and then about 4 or 5 months later finally fitted them today
