I agree the e39 was a stunning looking car, and I don't think the e60 really replaces it, but the e90-92 3 series is stunning.

Rear arch is too low, and not in the right place.
Front arch is too high, and doesn't look balanced with the rear one
The doors ALWAYS look like they;ve been repainted because the panel is at asuch a different angle to the rear quarter, is looks wrong in every light.
The front lamps are too "squinty"/not dominant enough
The door mirror is high, but the mounting is low....why?
The boot lid looks lower than the bonet.
The bonnet bulge looks like a Max Power addition.
The sills are sculpted up and down at the same time, merge with the rear quarter at an angle but the angle is not continued in the joint where the bumper is angled so there is not a single sensible line on the car.
And it smells of pooh. But the last thing is not proveable

That 93 is lovely. And THAT 93 particularly, is special
it was designed for people who dont follow the mould/mold of uber trendyness, but want summit different and right.
The only thing on the new 93 that I dislike is the vectra door handles...I miss my older Saab door handles. Other wise.... it is prettier.
They do have some lovely alloys though...
