The chemical metal is awesome - provided you get the mixture right. It doesn't set hard enough if you use too little hardener, and goes way brittle if you put too much in. Bit like hard-as-nails Araldite in a way

finally today I have finished the 80 grit on all four wheels! my fingers hurt but it was worth it
I also got out my new centre caps, but seeing as they are brand new I just keyed the surface with some 320 in order to get the new paint to stick...
soon ill have to amke the decision as to which of the stickers will go on the caps
tomorrow ill rinse the wheels down (still a lot of dust on them) and then just go over with some panel wipe. If I get time ill get the old chemical metal out and start tarting them up!
right today ive had the chemical metal out and ive been filling the gaps! it looks very rough at the moment but as soon as i go at them with some 180 grit to bring it back level it should start looking a lot better
And my boss at work brought in his scalextrix version for inspiration on Friday
Oi Bill, you seen Specky's V6 build in TV?
Idea for ya
Looking very nice, interested in the finished product like!

well trig let me know there has been some re-kindled interest to the project so I thought id better come back and give a mini update I have been waiting for money for most of the jobs which has been tight over xmas, and also as its been freezing its not really been the weather to work on the car.
Have no fear however, this car will be finished
My financial situation has now eased so things will be hotting up on the project very soon!
The wheels are already out for spraying and I have a set of -40mm gmax lowering springs in the garage ready to go on the car.
I am hoping for all to be done before the end of april ready for the showing season
Watch this space
well..... finally an update the weathers picking up so I can finally get this project done!
First things first... the wheels are back from being sprayed and im pleased with the results
I now have a choice to make about which centres to use with the wheels. All of the middle parts are stickers and the choices are in the picture below...
Let me know your favourite!
Next things are the decals and some tyres for these bad boys
Its nice to be back in the saddle!
Bill
