I'd go with black mesh on it to be honest, breaks the white up a bit.

well another good days work done on the old gal!
got these last night
so out with the old bulb...
hids wired into the live...
earths converted to allow for the hid earth...
new bulb in...
one hole for the grommet...
tada!
ballast packs in position
and lights back in place...
these are the best shots i can get whilst its in the garage... unfortunately as its been hammering it down I will have to get better pics tomorrow!
and just quickly going at the bumper with some mesh and no more nails
bumper will be back on tomorrow and ill take some good pics of the front end!
Bill
When will it be on the road again ??
Getting quite excited to see the end result now
self levellers not required as it has manual levellers which are good enough. I am the aftermarket washer
Also due to the calibra having projector lenses they won't blind people like a lot of aftermarket addons will.
Stuff left to do..
1) Today: Bumper back on and adjust the beam for the lights.
2) Lower 30mm
3) Vinyls
4) Wheels refurbed + tyres + spacers
5) Aftermarket wheel on.
6) Spoiler on.
Thats about it! Its all down to money now
I thought it was a legal requirement to have washers for the lights when HIDs are installed?

2. Washers
3. Self Levelling system, so the self levelling suspension in a discovery or range rover would be ok or to have self leveling system in the headlight unit.
I have a manual adjustment but this is not considered to meet the requirements (Actually considered by the EU to be innapropriate for use)
If I could find a conversion kit for my vehicle I'd fit them straight away as with the lights so high there is a good chance that I'd be blinding people left right and centre.
Car's looking really nice m8e, think you've done an excellent job with it.
well earlier this week i recieved a package containing the vinyl proofs. Today I have been masking these to the car to confirm scale.
Remember these don't represent colour, just size.
Enjoy
This vinyl will hopefully be a little larger to cover the spoiler.
There are a few more bits which need changing but im definitely getting there with the vinyl side now
Bill
Are you getting the vinyls applied for you, or doing it yourself?
I wouldn't fancy doing that side on miself I'll tell you
It's come a long way since you started fitting the engine, nearly there now.
Now we're talking !!!!
I've been in a Calibra that had that huge side decal on from the factory - brings back memories - mostly of being scared I was going to die - but in a good way

well! long time no post! the last couple of months have been hectic and very skint at the same time
ive finally got a little money this month to do a little with the car, so although its not a lot, its enough to keep me going and keep your interest!
Can you guess what these ingredients make?
Im starting to re-furb the wheels myself with a lack of money im trying to make the most of what ive got so may aswell give it a go!
First off got the wheels out of the tyres...
I cleaned them up as best as I could and tried with the old nitromors...
it wasn't that good!
Ive decided to go at it with some brute strength and some sanding my fingers are now killing
some of the alloys have rather bad kerbing (not by myself id like to add!) so im trying to get the best surface to chemical metal to get a smooth surface...
2 nights and ive got 2 of the alloys back a certain way with 80 grit and another 2 nights and ill have the other 2 done.
Once they are back ill clean all the dust off and chemical metal the kerbing. Once done ill sand back with 180 grit (aswell as the centre caps which are new) and then use etch primer, high build primer then top coat and laquer.
Hopefully it will pay off but a long way to go yet...
heres how they stand at the moment...
Dusty work!
More soon
