Shame, although he said he was going 70-75, looking at that alloy thats been smashed up bad I'd have thought he might have been going a pinch faster than that. And what with the ice and snow he shouldn't have been going even 70.

Also thats a dual carrageway, so shouldn't he have been doing 60 tops

Shame to see a new car go to waste tho.

It's a shame, but it sounds like he has no-one else to blame. Message is, slow down while it's cold folks. Better still, slow down until you know exactly how your car reacts when you lock the brakes, or slide the tail etc. It's about 2 years since I span my car coming out of a roundabout, and as I've not had a chance to explore its limits in safe conditions since, I've taken it easy to this day. In June I'll have 5 years NCB (touch wood).

I always thought it was 70 to?! Confused now, lol. But yes, what a waste of a car...Would that be a right off?

some of them are 70 , some of them are 60 - some dual carriageways in built up areas are 30 or 40 in liverpool.

actually - can anyone tell me what the / delimit means?

Lol how can anyone spin on a huge wide nearly stright bit of road?

Some people just need to concentrate on driving in a straight line as opposed to fiddling with their radio whilst on their mobile

Speed limit......dual carriageway with national limit signs (white with black diagonal) 70mph

which is what delimited means Hexman

Eitherway.......if you're texting, while doing your lipstick, and singing to your favourite boy band, while doing 70 ish and not watching what's going on ahead, and you notice all the brake lights going red ahead of you, and you hit the middle pedal hard, while trying to swap lanes....

it often looks like that afterwards

yup, and the normal roads with the delimit sign, the max is 60, and normal roads with no signs, but streetlighting at regular intervals it's a 30 limit

It's amazing how many drivers don't actually know all the proper speed limits.

I'm not sure how you can say that he was doing more than 75 by the way his alloy is trashed. I went sideways into a kerb doing about 30 and took a 3" chunk out of the alloy; I managed to expose the join between the tyre edge and the wheel - luckily though I didn't have a blowout. That was the result of off camber, gravel and trying to change direction too quickly

We all learn from our mistakes though.
