Just a thought: are YOU trying to save dough by being more economical?
And if so, what's your fuel saving working out at?

Well, we changed car to try and be more economical as the petrol car was using too much fuel where the diesel we have now is awesome.
Choppers use even more, but I don't pay for that, or most of my other traveling
Zak never said anything about emisions, just reducing your fuel bills.
For me, as someone who does 95% of their driving in town, saving fuel is one and the same as being fast and smooth. I always try and time traffic lights so I don't have to stop, I take the most direct line through corners, use the brakes as little as possible etc. I consistently get 45mpg around town in my mum's old Clio 1.9 diesel so I don't think I'm doing too badly.
On the rare occasions when I venture out of town I do 60mph everywhere unless I'm late for something, which nowadays I rarely am. 60+ mpg FTW.
I went for the ultimate fuel saving today and cycled the 6.5 miles to work- admittedly only because the car wouldn't start, but still....
i drive a V6 ford whats economical ?
lol
to answer the question no
Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.
Not changed much, but I wasn't ragging it off the redline before...
Yes I am.
Managed to get 430 miles out of a tank :O admitidly it involved accelerating so slowly to not even use the turbo, then sitting at 60/65 for most of the time, trying to maintain a constant speed and be smooth. But thats still 70-80 miles more than I normally see out of a tank. Before I was happy if I got over 300 miles per tank.
I haven't changed to drive more economically, my driving style varies based on mood, and if I'm in a hurry or not. Although, my car doesn't seem to drop much mpg even if you do rag it around on the red line, best I've had from a tank is 42mpg (same as manufactuers mpg value) and worst is 35mpg.
