    Re: Spanish Grand Prix

Bit boring, I was fighting to stay awake in it. Shame Rubens had a bad run in the middle, all credit to Webber though he did a great job throughout.

Had to laugh at Massa, I've not seen anyone run their car dry in a long time It was so clear earlier on that his best bet was to back off and stop fighting Vettel off.. shot himself in the foot by keeping go but he's a driver first and a points scorer second like all of them I'm sure.

yea not the most exciting race atleast we got a little entertainment...i don't know why they didn't keep vettel out there one more lap than massa when they knew he was gonna come in on vettels next planned pitstop? surely he had one cheeky lap left? i guess not they plan this stuff alot but was a bit borign seeing them both come into the pits and both leave in the same places.

Atleast qualifying makes up for boring races....sort of

Yeah, bad call for Vetel, he should've done anything different, come in to pit later or sooner, it doesn't really matter as long as he got out into clear air he should've been able to gain track position on him since he was clearly faster.

While KERS can improve overtaking, it also has the opposite effect in this senario. Would be interesting to see if/when Brawn decide to go for KERS, as someone mentioned during the race that since they're using the McLaren engines they could take the McLaren KERS and drop it into the car. Obviously other changes would be needed to make space and drop some weight, but they don't need to develop their own KERS as they already have access to one of the best with the McLaren deal.
I don't mean to sound cold, or cruel, or vicious, but I am so that's the way it comes out.

Only thing that's not been mentioned is the somewhat epic mini-battle between Alonso and Webber. That was big-balls stuff.

Down the one straight you mean? Yeah that was impressive, though Alonso seemed to like pushing people off the track there (assuming it was him that put Lewis on the grass at the start). I'm all for gutsy racing, but relying on people to take avoiding action off the race track (and onto the grass or the pit lane) is something that would be cause for a penalty in other situations...

Nice assumption ... but a wrong one. Alonso was well ahead of Hamilton at the start. It was Piquet, who started a row ahead of Hamilton - and I simply didn't think he could see that Hamilton was next to him - must have been just about in his blindspot when he cut across. Well avoided by Lewis though.

Still, Piquet can't have long left. Even in his relatively quiet races he's making cock ups.

Can't have long? I was surprised he even had a drive this year. Same with Bourdais, he may have won a few championships in the states, but he doesn't seem to have what is needed for F1. Then again we've seen so many hopefuls coming from the Indy/Cart/IRL (whatever the series is called now) and do nothing.

    Re: Spanish Grand Prix

I can't say I'm impressed by Bourdais either, especially when he blames everyone and everything else around him for duff performances - Vettel and now Buemi have proven that the Torro Rosso can compete at the sharp end, yet he seems well down the field every race (other than the odd weird one where he's been heavy on a one-stop and eventually ends up further up the field..)

Well why do you think Hartley's been getting so much press coverage recently..?

Because he'd been proposed to be the reserve driver, but only got a super license at the end of last month. And he looks like a girl than Britney (Nico Rosberg).

If Bourdais loses his drive, then it'll be someone like Sato in the seat.

I thought Bourdais did well last season, and deserved to keep the drive. If Vettel is really that good, then Bourdais was very close to him in the 2nd half of the season. When Vettel won Monza, Bourdais's car broke down on the line.

He's been weak this year though. Most felt he'd feel more at home with the extra mechanical grip he's used to from ChampCar, but it's not happened. A very average GP2 driver is making him look very poor.

For the record, STR don't have the new bits that RBR have. They're still Melbourne spec. It isn't a point-scoring capable package yet.

Seeing as the race was two days ago and was won by Button, I'd say you are right
