Probably "Hsien-Ko" Really depends on what I can link it with ie Mondeo is called "Felicia" because the colour is "Panther Black". Don't get me depressed about my forever broken saturn (well it got binned in the end). I loved playing Guardian Heroes (I think it's called) and Sega Rally.
I should hear from Mark (the owner) at some point as he's going to email me the specifications. Of course he may not do this as he really doesn't want to sell the car. He didn't say no at the offer though...still insurance premium could scupper things.
How old are you?

I'd be suprised if you were asked to pay much more than £1000/yr. I suppose it depends on your postcode lottery etc.

Sorry for going OT.
Ebay then mate. I like the original oval button Saturns 'cos of the CD access light, and my original one with my very messy home done region switches still works fine, but I decided to buy a round button Saturn just because you can still get chips for them and I'd prefer to backup some of my rarer games like Vampire Saviour and Radiant Silvergun. So I got one for under £20 delivered with a bunch of games (most of which I had already). When it turned up it was only held together with Sellotape, so I had a look inside and found: a modchip....and a video CD module. Admittedly I haven't yet persuaded the modchip to work, but I daresay if I get busy with the soldering iron I can probably get it going.
Sorry if this is dodgy legal ground mods, but surely Saturn games are functionally abandonware now? Last ones were released in (IIRC) 1998/99.
I've got two brand new white Saturns here that I bought in Japan in 2001. I've been meaning to stick one on ebay for the last 8 years. They used to be worth about £100, probably half that now.
Just got emailed the small list of mods on it. (cut and paste from email and too lazy to change the caps...)

hi
Well that is the fear...go ahead and buy it
It does seem to have the spec for a 500BHP RB, fairly big injectors and a decent fully mappable ECU.
Although wasnt aware R33 GTR turbos were capable of that sort of power, also it would seem it is running a standard bottom end.
Look clean though
Yeh spec looks OK. the R33 turbos should be fine if they have been rebuilt with steel internals. Standard R33 turbos will explode above 400bhp.
I would expect to be heading towards 500 for sure.
Any service history or info on who fitted what parts? Or was the modding done in japan? Where was the power FC mapped?
Also - what intercooler is it? Looks like a standard one to me though I may well be wrong!

what's a 360 degree bearing? Surely anything that goes right the way round, like a bearing needs too, is 360?

270 (left) and 360 (right) I think...The 270 vs. 360 Dilemma
Many conventional journal- bearing turbos use a 270-degree thrust-bearing washer (at left), while the new breed of conventional and ball-bearing turbos employ 360-degree thrust bearings. The advantages of a 360-degree bearing include a full circle of lubrication, six orifices on the washer instead of three for the 270-degree unit, and an updated pad strategy to better disperse oil where it's needed. Turbonetics uses 360-degree bearings on all of its T04B and T04E turbochargers. There isn't much of a dilemma here; if you have the opportunity to use a 360-degree bearing, jump at it.

I think a decent twin turbo set-up on these straight six rbs are the way forward, Im sure it would make for a much more responsive engine when compared to a huge single turbo set-up.
Wow... that looks sweet. What's the mileage on that car though? Cause £5,000 pounds is a bit expensive for such an old car, but then again it's a R.
Side note: me want R35 = )
