Planning new car - Help needed!

OK, so to give myself something to look forward to, I'm planning on a new car to replacement my trusty (but now starting to get rusty ) Cappuccino.

    The rules are:

    1) MUST be RWD.
    2) If not Convertible, then must have Aircon.
    3) must be FUN

    Candidates so far:

    1) Lotus Elise - Already rejected, K series engine just fills me with horror.
    2) VX220 - However, they only seem to do turbo now?
    3) Toyota MR2 - Seem a little under powered.
    4) Mazda RX8 - hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
    5) Kit car or something similar (Caterham ruled out - Also uses K Series engine)

Fuel and insurance are not issues here, as its a weeked FUN car.
Budget is going to be 25k max.
Would prefer New rather than S/H.

I'd definitely test drive the RX8, from all i've seen and heard it will take a fair bit of beating. But with any purchasing of a new car, go and test drive 6, 8 or 10 cars, give yourself a chance to judge them, it certainly paid off with doing that when i went and got myself a new car, I'd suggest that everyone do that when looking themselves.

Like the idea of a New car, rather than S/H.
Sure it'll depreciate the second it leaves the showroom, but at least I'll know every single mile it's done.

Oh don't worry, EXTENSIVE test drives will be taking place. I always advise people that a test drive should be AT LEAST an hour, over varying roads (motorway, town driving, country roads).

No point spending all that money to find your ankles ache cos of the angle of the pedal, or the clutch is damn heavy in stop start traffic.

    Weird.. my post disappeared.

Anyway, rather predictably I guess for me. If I had 25k knocking around for a weekend car I'd at least go and test the new Clio V6. Might not be the most mental quick thing in the world, but they're an awesome drive - just so much fun it's scary. They attract attention where ever you go due to the silly amounts of road presence they have.

Oh, and with the KTEC exhaust and an induction kit on... the noise... the noise!

RX8 is a nice choice, no doubt, my sisters arrives tomorrow, but you try and find a new one, its like going through hell and high water they are in big demand right now....

hmmm to me the VX220 is the one to go for, its just that little bit more, and Clarkson says the only one to get is the turbo. Only one thing, when the car was launched I got in it at Earls Court and counld not get out, was highly embarassing stuck in the thing on the stand, so be careful if your a big guy lol (on reflection you can't be that big cos you fit in a capuccino lol )

I apologise now Jiff for not being sure about RWD...I know what it means, but I don't know out of the cars I have found whether they are or not

Audi TT - Roadster or Coupe
They are 22k on the road it says according to audi.co.uk
    LINK

    Saab 93 - Convertible
They should be under 25k surely?
    LINK

Then of course there's every1's favourite at the moment!

The lack of steering lock is what concerns me. One of my friends owns two of them (VERY long story!).
