There's special sections on those really wide multi-laned roads. They're marked with tall yellow cameras on poles and big yellow signs.

The number on the signs (30, 50, etc) is the angle at which you must hold the wheel and the yellow cameras are there to record your progress for Youtube.

    Have fun

awesome! i wondered what they were for...

trouble is most of those roads are straight... no real bends to get that kind of lock on the wheel

notice how i said i wanted a legal way to do this... i dont much fancy losing my licence which is why i havent used the public highways to try these practises out!

I still stand doing a drift day. It will teach you everything you need to know about the car going sideways. As well as that if you can find a car club that is doing a track day. Whilst you can't slide the rear round the track (this is usually a big no-no) you will get to drive at silly high speeds, and you can push your car safely, knowing that in the worst case your going to spin out usually onto some grass.

Trackwise personally I recommend Llandow. Its a nice easy track to learn, quite quick, and the whole area has plenty of grass run off's. If you can go at the right time its not that bad price wise either.
