Sad day today :-(

None of you will no this person. But I shall regail you anyway. Cos I can.

Mr P (full name not relevant) has been coming to this garage for over 30 years.

He passed away this week, and I found out today, so I'm a bit sad. He was simply a customer. But he was special.

Why? Not because he brought cars from us here....thats obvious, he's one of our customers.

But because when he decided to buy a new Astra Cabrio two years ago....and the only thing holding him back was that it wouldn't fit in his garage.

SO he had a new garage built

now THAT is a retail customer, who wants what he wants and no body and nothing would sway him. He wanted it, he wanted it from me, and he knocked his old garage down and had a new one (complete with central heating to dry out the hood when it rained) built .

TBH bitish garages are notorious for being built to house bycicles or lawnmowers and not fit modern cars. I suppose cars 40 years ago were narrower... But it can be a real pain.

he had BMW as well, and Merc....he was reasonably wealthy. But he wasn't bothered when it didnt fit. Normally....thats the end of the deal.....customer walks and makes different decision.

Nope....not him......knock it to the ground. Build new .MAKE IT FIT Punters like that are few and far between now.

To be honest mate, its not very often that anyone would even post something like this either, see i figure it this way that there are still plenty of people that have the decency to do things right, its just that there are a small minority of morons that seem to screw things up for all the rest of us.
