Anybody going to be getting up for it?
Yes. Though I don't think it'll be worth it. Button will be mugged on the dirty line then it'll be a procession with everyone citing brake conservation as the reason this time. Unless Senna sticks it in the barriers and the safety car does something weird.

    Re: Australian GP

I might get up for it, i'll set the alarm for 6.55 and make a T just in time to watch the start.

Quali was a bit of a suprise with Hamilton, really off the pace.

As for the Red Bull team, i'm fairly happy with seeing them near the front. It's nice to see them there given the amount of time they spent at the back of the grid. Vettel seems a great driver and seeing him win would be pretty good. Next best to having a Brit there. My support tommorow is more likely to go to Lotus and Virgin though

Lotus have taken a step foward. Quali times against Virgin were about a second quicker from being behind last week. HRT look just as slow as before and are still stuggling to get much running in.

Here's hopeing for rain First corners at Aus is normally a little dodgy rain or shine so might be an interesing start. Just hope it carrys on.

    Re: Australian GP

Stunning drive from Button, I had a feeling he would win this one. He is often fast around Melbourne.

Feel sorry for Mark Webber (except for his last incident), another miserable race, for him and Red Bull. They seem to have an inibility to get their cars to the finish so often.

If they don't sort it out it will hurt them this season as it did the last. They clearly have the fastest car, they just need to make sure drivers keep them on the road and that their reliability improves.

    Re: Australian GP

I have no sympathy for Webber at all.
The last accident was a stupid move, and same for his earlier one as well - he has enough experience to know not to have done what he did both times, the only unlucky part of his race was being pitted second, but that was always going to happen with Vettel leading.
Agree Red Bull seem to be making it hard work for themselves though.

On a similar note, McLaren also seem to have this problem, great drive from Jenson though, he was untouchable (aided by Vettels retirement). Lewis had an amazing race, great moves throughout the race, and deserved much more than he got. Shame he couldn't pass Alonso.

Definitely a great race to have woken up to watch, having only had about 5 hours sleep in the previous 48 hours......but much of the incidents were caused by the rain.

    Re: Australian GP

A great race. Was some good driving by Button and Kubica. Really worked out well for them. If not Vettel who i really feel sorry for having car trouble take him out of the lead again.

Not entirly sure what Mark Webber was thinking of......

Hamilton you feel needs to grow up a bit, he had a great race but it will be somewhat blighted by him whingeing on the radio more than the Webber crash.

It would appear Sauber have a slightly dodgy front wing aswell, that accident could have been alot worse.....

After last season I was starting to warm to Hamilton more. I thought a season of having a bad car had helped him mature but this weekend has shown he still has a bit of growing up to do. I just hope he does it sooner rather than later. Having said that, he deserved a better result today. He is awesome at outbraking others and then keep it all under control unlike Mark Webber who still seems to be a bit overeager.

    Re: Australian GP

I really enjoyed the race full of action and overtaking. Was very disappointed to see Vettel have victory snatched away from him again I hope Red Bull get it sorted out very soon. Very happy for Button to win to, fantastic driving once again and by far the best person amongst the top teams on the grid for conserving tires. What a gamble

As for Webber hitting into Hamilton at his home race, he's very lucky he didn't end both their races, if that had been any faster I'm sure Hamilton would have been against the barrier.

I'd hardly say it was snatched away, it was jsut over a third of the way into the race

What about Force India though eh?

    Re: Australian GP

Loved It. Totally made up for the utter fail of a race that was Bhariain.

Jenson - Sublime drive and excellent driver intuition on the tyre change.

Hamilton - FFS Grow up.. A mistake was made, deal with it, being a former World Champion dosn't make you invincible, look at Schumi and as for the quali excuse of, "The incident with the police affected him", sod off. Serves him right for being a dick 'ed.

Vettel - Damn it, yet more Red Bull reliability issues. When will it ever end.

Webber - Too hot a head in the last stint cost him places.

Rosberg - Hmmm, Maybe Schumi is regretting that return to F1 now, Eh Nico.

Overall an excellent race, still somewhat made boring by the lack of pit stops for fuel..

Roll on Next week and Malaysia.

The only problem is, Sepang is one of those racetracks isn't it ?

Was good last year (well exciting to watch anyway), maybe they should just start it at 5pm local time instead of 4pm......
