Thinking of getting the Audi chipped.
Can anyone recommend a quality place in the South East ?

In a modern car don't you get it remapped rather than chipped?

Then there's the issue of the new 2011 MOT regulations regarding chips and ECU's !.

And yes - I believe that it is indeed remapping for cars post 2001.

4) Regarding chipped ECU s, will a car with an ECU holding a chip flashed with a program fail an MOT (this will include all current production cars)

No final decision has been made on how to incorporate these checks into the current MOT scheme at this time. However work is currently ongoing with the Department of Transport and the transport industry to ensure that the manner of introduction of any new directive requirements meets the Commission s criteria.

Avoid the mobile remapping companies IMHO.

Diesel or Petrol, if its diesel you might be better getting a tuning box as they can be pulled out prior to a MOT so theirs no issues their, even so I'd like to know how MOT testers could fail it on a remap as long as it meets the emissions standards. Some remap company's even offer dual profiles so you can switch between standard and performance maps.

As mentioned before, they should have a rolling road and good reputation.

I used a company called 'Shark performance' for my diesel Skoda Octavia vRS (diesel). Fantastic work, very well rated in the VAG community and a genuine nice guy who knows his stuff.

For an extra £150 on top of the £300ish remap you get a box which you can map/unmap the car to your hearts content between your standard ECU & remaped ECU.

He is located in Nottingham, though he can post out the box with the remapped & OEM map on to you.

Have heard a couple of good things from Audi owning friends about QS Tuning based in Haywards Heath, but never used them myself (Not much point in taking a beaten up Fiesta there).
