Whilst I can't help with the indicators (I'd have suggested the fuse or the switch), if you're worried about the legality of driving with no indicators the arm signals are listed here (you might need to scroll down a bit though.

might be the flasher box...its the thing that MAKES then go on and off....

ring a Ford dealer, ask for Part Dept, and ask them if they do a "flasher can" for your car.

It's like a relay box....the Hazard is often on a seperate one so that might be why.

    Only a guess tho

Have you checked the light clusters to make sure all the wiring is ok? I know your hazards are working fine, but Fords are notorious for lightclusters earthing out and causing them not to work properly?
Also could be something up with your indicator arm - have you had a look to see if the wires are still all plugged into it?

Just a couple of my thoughts - hope they are of use

she's right...the earth of Fords is quite ropey....once they get too corroded the lamps do weird things...

if you take the rear lamps out and then find where they earth to the body, and then see if you can clean up the contacts, or even connect them to a new bit of body work.

As cars get older, and the earth gets weaker, the indicators sometimes come on with the brake lights and other weird stuff.

    Good call Honoop...good thinking
