Not too sure bout that, I did read/hear somewhere that Supermarket fuels are not as good as some of the other brands, aparently they do less miles to the gallon and are not all that good for your car, hence cheaper. BP is generally more expensive (hey every penny counts! ) I tend to stick to Shell though.

Guess I'll be using their cheap unleaded now, as the Optimax won't really benefit me

For the first few months of having my car, I used to stick in Sainsbury's cheapy stuff in all the time. But I tried Optimax a couple months agao, and I think I will stick with it a bit longer!

I'm not sure if its all in my head or not, but my car just feels a bit more repsonsive and smoother! So that has to be good! Can't say I have noticed much of a change in my MPG though.

Felt I got ripped off teh other day when refilling at a BP station in Ambleside.

Pulled up at the only Diesel pump available (the others were being used) and filled up. Noticed on the way to the kiosk that the price was 88.9 a litre and not the 83.9 it should have been. Then realise that it was actually the ultimate stuff. Wouldn't have minded so much if there had been two hoses, normal and ultimate on the same pump (like the majority of unleaded petrol pumps).

But as it was I got scummed.

    Live and learn I guess.

I didn't notice any difference at all whilst driving.
