How many driving lessons did you have?

    Just out of curiosity

I have lost count, but it's more than 20 hours worth. Probably nearer (or even more than) 30! Lol.

I'm doing alright, and my test is in October. But I'm still a little way from test standard... It's more of the finite stuff that I get confused with or just can't grasp

So how many hours worth did everyone have?

I had one a day.. for 3 months... but only cos I could... the company paid for my driving lessons so I could make them more profit - cost them an arm and a leg, but because I had so many lessons, I only had to concentrate on one or two things per lesson - it was very relaxed, and meant that because I had spent like an hour JUST reversing into lanes and stuff - I had it down as best as I could. Saying that it still took me 2 tests to pass.

Still learning... Must have had 20 hours easy by now though... Getting there - slowly but surely... I'm a bit like Trig - I can control the car OK (it's easier than I expected) but in terms of it being natural... Not yet - getting better though (starting to plan ahead a lot more, react better to any suprises, etc). Thinking about getting 'my' car back on the road so I can get more practice in (it was the wife's car but she's upgraded and I get the ol' head o' junk when (if?) I pass)

On the bright side my instructor is swapping from a corsa to a (new) mini next week (I've never really liked the corsa - not being snobby - I just don't like it - prefer the way my battered old Pug 306 feels). Of course the down side to that is I have to learn how to handle a different car but I reckon it should be OK. I'll let you know!

I think I had 18-20 I would have prefered more, it was all a bit rushed but I either took my test then or waited for a stupid amount of time (and I kinda needed to be able to drive so I could get to work..). Luckily I didnt screw the test up and got 5 minors.

had 13 - and as I walked in to take my test, my instructor told me I'd never driven so badly in all my lessons.

Passed though - he congratulated me with "oh well, I'll have to find someone else for your thursday spot".

basically, my instructor was a miserable old git!

Howard, you haven't got an option for 5-10 in your poll. I had 8 or 9 hours of lessons I think, but I had spent 7 months driving around in my mum's 2CV with her. Having said that though, I got in the 2CV on the morning of my 17th birthday and drove it to school....

I failed my first test after about 7 hours of lessons just because I didn't know how a right hand filter lane at some traffic lights worked. Got that sorted and I was good to go. To this day my reversing around corners is atrocious though, I got lucky and had reverse park in both my tests.

think I took my first test at around 20 lessons, failed that and by the time of my second I'd say I'd spent about 25 hours in the car with my driving instructor.

    waaaay over 30......

I hated driving..I despised it...my mum got me my first driving lesson for my 17th birthday, and thought I'd be pleased.

I refused to talk to her for the entire day......funny old world. My parents had it hard with me I think poor sods. What on EARTH would have happened to me without those lessons....?

I was cack.....I was really cack. The ONLY thing I was good at was fitting cars through narrow spaces. Other than that...dire. Bad clutch control, dire steering inputs, really bad emergency stop.

one day, when lots of you were still young, there was a loud click noise, that was heard throughtout the United Kindom...the echoes of it live on.
It was seen on Jodrell Banks computer screens.
A small boat in the English Channel was hit by a large wave caused by this click
My home down was shicked by the immediacy of the result....

It all fell in place I passed...it all made sense.

I crashed my first car, with my best friend Deckard, and my cousin in it, soon after and risked all of our lives

Then I learned to drive properly.....by thinking and reading and seeing, and understanding the road and its users.

You'll get there bud just be patient and be good as you can be. Strive and you'll achieve

25 i think....over 6 months. Passed 1st time with 4 minors in December - havent had a crash yet *touch wood* only a couple of sketchy bits due to lack of experience, but im much more confident now.
