    Service - How much?

    Hey all,

I need to get a service done for my car and i was wandering if you guys can suggest how much you think it might / should cost.

    Its a vauxhall Omega - y reg.

Needs full service and cam belt change.

i live in the essex area.

If anyone can give me an indication that would be great.

    Cheers

if your car has low miles, vaux service history and you're not genna keep it for years, a main dealer service/timing belt will help the car retain value in the short/medium term... so it might be worth paying more for it (zak will tell you how much)

if it doesn't, and you're not, then it might not be... i rekon down in essex you could probly get it done at a independent for £300ish...

If you answer the information above i could give you an accurate cost, however it is going to be variable depending on dealers hourly rates.

The best thing to do would probably be to telephone your local dealer.

4.2 hours, so depending on labour costs its going to be in the region of £278.50 + parts assuming a labour charge of £60/h

That is for a full service and cambelt change.

2.2 (if petrol) is a chain drive car! No belt. In fact some 2.2 DTi's are Chain drive too.

    just a thought

is it a 2.2 16v petrol? Cos if so most were chain driven all aloy engines.

There ARE some with cam belts, but they are rare.

I could be wrong, but it does look like a belt to me, i have never had the pleasure of replacing one on this vehicle.

Car and engine details are at the top of the screen shot.

Sorry for size but its hard to see the detail if its reduced.
