I use engine sound, keep your eyes firmly planted on the road then

I do have a limiter, didn't when you came out for a blast though Russ. I've got an Omex clubman now, which is set to a soft cut at 6,200rpm. The shiftlight is set to light up at 5,800rpm which gives me 200rpm before the soft cut starts to reduce power.
Engine sound is all very well and good, but when you're aiming to get every last bit of power on a run down the strip the shiftlight ensures you get a consistantly timed gear change, whereas listening to the engine means you could short shift or over rev.
