TBH mate, if the rust is THAT bad, I'd sell up. For personal safety and for a fresh start.
No matter what you do your not going to get your money back what you've put into it, but you can get SOME of it back, which can go to the 'new' car.
I think you have to think what you loved about this Clio, and what you didn't really like. E.G. Too cramped, so you might want a bigger car... Things like that.
It's such a shame that rust has bitten you bad, as the car (having not seen it in real life) it is a legend on here, and on other forums around the net. I've not seen or heard of another Clio GTT. Why not keep it unique? If you built up another Clio GTT you'd always be comparing it to the original, and thinking... my old one wasn't that bad etc...

Insurance costs seem to be about 600 quid. That's do-able, but a bit more than I'd like to be spending really.
Does something other than a Clio tempt you then?, is it a matter of you know Clio and better the devil you know?....

have you looked at t5 insurance? its only 700 for me.. and i'm only 22 with 1 year ncb. guessing if that clio is so cheap for you a t5 wouldnt be huge amounts more.
hughlunnon@yahoo.com | I have sigs turned off..
Pretty much - I know the Clios inside and out and the same for R5's now. It's a case of having had just about everything go wrong with one or a mates so you learn the hard way.Originally Posted by TiG

until youve sat in his clio, you can comment, you grin like a cheshire cat until the engines turned off. volvo T5's are nice, but about as far away from a sporty/hatch you could be. and it weighs nearly DOUBLE the weight of his car. 600kg extra and an extra 600cc is a lot of petrol.Originally Posted by 5lab

Not exactly a sleeper compared to your clio is it tho?. I thought that was half your reason for having it?.

Im pretty sure he wont be a FWD man for long if he goes and testrives a few S13's.
Once youve tasted RWD goodness, you dont go back to scrabble
If your worried about going to see S13's - register and post on the SXOC forum and i garuntee there will be a member near you who will go with you to check the car over.
