hi it could be the track rod end or the anti roll links as my ex boyfriend used my astra and hit the back at 80 puncturing the tyres and denting the wheels, then there was a knocking sound especially on braking when at junctions etc. the parts are quite cheap. was quoted £9 track rod end and £4 for each anti roll link. quotes may be different for different makes obviously!

Why don't you idiots start a new thread with your specific problems?
Not only are you reviving age-old topics but it really screws up search engine results.
Are there no mods on this forum?

Hi, recently i have been getting noises coming from the drivers side (right hand) underneath the pedals. The noises are identifiable as 'Knocking or grumbling' noises. They tend to get much louder when decreasing speed (at a very low speed) and with no pedals depressed ..however, it gets even louder when the clutch is depressed and the steering wheel begins to pull to the right, like something is gripping on and off of the wheel.

Now, i have recently had a new clutch fitted, but this issue was happening before this. Its quite hard to desribe an exact time when it happens, as there isant one. Sometimes when driving at speed, the wheel begins to grip to the right, and when turning left theres a clicking sound. If you were to listen carefully, there is a constant faint knocking sound in the background.

I realise the information above may not be very detailed, but i would appreciate any suggestions as to what it is, and how to fix it?

    Many Thanks.
check the bearing on the axle going from the transmission and to the right side,or it could be wheel bearing it self.
    hope this helps
