Yes the ST200 had twin rear pipes. Involves no work to the tank at all. Infact when I got the car the exhuast was on the other side anyway - had to move it as the exhuast hole on the bumper was on the right.Originally Posted by Konan555

I'm a bit loath to debadge it becuase I'll get people saying I'm pretending its an ST24. I get that enough as it is - they see the kit and the wheels (Wheels came on the car from new) and assume thats what I'm trying to acheive when in reality the kit was not restricted to the ST24 - it was also standard on the 2.0 Zetec-S and a factory option on the Ghia X. With the exception of the engine its a higher spec car than the ST24.

Keep the badges.
Debadging makes you look like you are trying.
Only debadging I'd consider would be on an M5 or an RS6 - only debadge the thing that debadging aspires to
Tough on mirrors, tough on the causes of mirrors.

i think the 200 had a different engine with slightly larger capacity, but then all the v6s from that time did - ie they changed from the 24 to the 200 when they upgraded the engines.

You are correct - the ST24 had the same power output (167bhp) as the V6 Si, Ghia and Ghia X. The ST200 had the same capacity (2544cc) but various modifications raised the power to 202bhp. It's also the only one with twin exhuasts as standard, and is only available in Racing Blue*Originally Posted by Konan555
Early ST24's were Saloons and had no bodykit - the only thing they had that the Ghia's didn't was lower suspension. In 1997 the hatchback ST24 was introduced and with this came the standard RSAP bodykit, also offered as an option on the Ghia X.
In many ways (With the exception of the ST200) the pinnacle of the range was the V6 Ghia X with optional Sports Appearance Pack. Looked and went like an ST24, but had a higher level of equipment. Unfortunately these are exceptionally rare (and some reason 75% of the ones you do find are automatics?), and the ST24 carries more kudos amongst those not 'in the know' about the different specs.
The ST200 was in production in 1999 and 2000, and was built alongside the ST24 - it did not replace it.
However, mine is not a V6 - it's a 2.0 16v Ghia X. They did do a 2.0 with the bodykit as standard - the Zetec-S, however the specification is pretty low (It has black plastic door handles, no leather, no cruise, no computer, etc etc) so I didn't really want one of those. 2.0 16v Ghia X's with the bodykit from the factory also exist - but are even rarer than manual V6 examples - I have only ever seen about 3-4. So I had to buy a standard Ghia X and add the kit.
