All the best cars have their induction kits zip tied on! Didnt you know that konan? The zip tie gives an extra 5bhp!!!
Butuz
He'd get 20bhp if it had 'motorsport' written on it.
Cool, you've put a new battery in.Originally Posted by [GSV]Trig

New battery
airbox gone replaced with Cone (and I dont want to hear the sucking in hot air arguement)
Nobody noticed the FSE's gone n been replaced with a Weber one.
Half a hose kit.
Manual Boost Controller
Heatsheild
Different Rocker Cover
Crome Plug Cover
Dump Valves gone
No mention of the rerouting of pipes either, notice the pipe missing next to the rad
New Bonnet
Aircons gone and the alarm siren is in its hole, it used to be cable tied to the ABS unit/aircon pipes.
More cable ties
Oil Filler Cap
When the top pic was taken the car was at just under 200bhp, its now a bit more lol...
nope they dont butuz, "i think" as standard it had a sealed unit from the grille pointing towards the air box, then a pipe to connect them. coukd be wrong about last bit though.
Theres an intake that comes from just behind the bumper, into a resonator box then into the airbox, the hole in the box is about 3" accross so the cone just being plonked in the engine bay will have access to less restricted air, yes that air will be warmer but seeing as that the air route goes, cone, AFM, Turbo, FMIC the fact its drawing warmer air in matters not...
How exactly are we supposed to see that?Originally Posted by [GSV]Trig

You havent seen my FMIC have you lol....Originally Posted by Butuz

The cooler the air going into the intercooler, the cooler the air coming out of the intercooler, regardless of how big the intercooler is. If your getting lots of heatsoak from bad airflow to the induction kit, then your intake temps are higher, than if you used some clever ducting and heat shielding to get cold air into your air filter, and stop hot air from the engine getting to it.
Your losing performance, by not worrying about heatsoak. And fixit it can generally be free with a bit of ducting work and some steel / aluminum.

Not exactly 5 degrees warmer.Originally Posted by Butuz
In the pic of the old engine. Just about. In the new pic all we see is bonnet struts. And they seem identical, but it may be just the shoddy picture qualityOriginally Posted by [GSV]Trig

Would of thought that'd be wrong tbh, depends on ambient temperatures and the efficiency of the FMIC?
IIRC the intercooler's limited by the surface area the charge is exposed to as it passes through rather than the amount of heat it can radiate.
If the charge going in his hotter, the charge leaving will be hotter, however, it's not by exactly the increase in intake tempreature (as the higher the tempreature difference the faster the energy tansfer).... it might be close though,
