I quite like the 106. The only problem with the smaller engine models is the lack of an anti roll bar. The body roll is amazing!!!

I own a PC that changes regularly, so I don't bother putting anything in here...
Didn't notice too much roll, suppose it rolls more than the rental cars i drove recently.
Its quite nice for a first car. Quite quick when i am alone in it.
Strugles a bit with passengers. Tis a 1.1 60 bhp model.
P.S. Do you like my sticker?

A very clean little first car that here's my ride :-
The car parked next to it is my old Golf, which I sold off to a mate who wanted a VW to play with.

Coleman F5....
A mate of mine had one and tried to follow me round a roundabout (I actually didn't think i'd taken it very quick), he managed to scrape the front valance on the ground whilst I was watching in the rear view mirror. I was amusedOriginally Posted by dkmech
The engines are nice though, revvy little monsters, especially good for an 8V.

Oh, lol.
I don't read it. Hence i had no idea what you were talking about. It was a mate who bought it (he is into bikes) and i harassed him into giving me the sticker coz a JCB sticker would look funnier on a small white car, than on a mountain bike.
By the way, the sticker used to be yellow, but it burned out in what little sun we get around here.

Only problem is there's no rev counter. And it seems to roar like an elephant in mating season whenever i press the accelerator hard or go above 50mph. So i am always at a loss regarding how hard i can push it. Actually there may be information about what revs correspond to what speed in each gear somewhere.Originally Posted by hotpurple

i know it used to be yellow, theres an identical sticker on the back of my palm Vx
there will be a rev limiter when you rev too much, find what speed this is in each gear, once, then drive to about 80-90% of this speed in the given gear. ie if the rev limiter kicks in at 23 mph in first, drive to 20, and so on

Actually, on the early 106s there is no limiter as it is carbed and has a dizzy. So don't neccessarily use this as a hard and fast rule.
