Only 1 within 60 miles of me (NW London), and that's a pov-spec (CL), advertised-as-high-miler white diesel estate.

Still better than a similarly priced Golf though...

Mind you why people buy cheapo Focus's when a Mondeo the same age will be a) Half the price and b) higher spec and c) Just as reliable/cheap to run is beyond me, but then I'll never get over peoples desire to spend huge quantities of cash just to avoid un-needed extra space..

I say if you like the car, it drives nice, has no obvious defects then go for it. People choose cars for different reasons, if speed isn't one of his reasons, then the car sounds perfect for him. He's going to get a reliable, well built, tried and tested car. Personally I wouldnt be spending over the £1500 mark for a car that age, but then if it's the right car for a little more money, choices can be made at the time.
