    Mpg

With fuel prices on the increase and me running the new engine I thought I'd do a check as to how efficient the engine is, especially as it's only running a mild ECU mapping.

37.7mpg on a motorway+fast road run, with half the motorway run being err.. around 90mph.

I thought that was pretty good for a 2.0l engine

I did a few tests in the Ovlov over the weekend. 35-40mpg at 70mph, which I think it's quite good for a 2.5

Single figures are achievable though it you give it some beans

1.8 Escort only does about 35 mpg ('A' roads mostly), the CB500 does about 60 to 65 mpg if being sensibleand the 125cc bike does about 90 to 100. Mostly use the CG125 for commuting (15 miles each way) to save a few quid on roads that are slow anyway.

I worked out that even riding 'sportily' on my varadero I got 69.9 mpg (over a complete tank), not bad considering it revs to 13k

I'm gonna wire up my fuel comp this weekend if I get the chance and get really anal about economy driving. I found some 95RON at 95p and caught myself thinking "My, that's cheap"

My ole 2L averages 35mpg. Big roads 'n' motorways as lowe was describing it's somewhere over 40 (and cheaper to run than taking out the Diesel Skoda, as it happens). Problem with this one is the 4x4 with shorter final drive don't make it that nice on the motorway.

    Isn't 95RON just normal unleaded?

I get between 26-45 depending on how heavy my foot feels, which I don't think is bad for a 2.5 V6. Ok it's a Diesel, but it's still a V6

    Im getting around 30 - 32mpg on a 1.8mondeo,

this is short journeys through town and back on forth to work, which is dual carriageway, but 4 roundabouts within four miles of each other!
