£6000 to spend, must be quick! Any ideas?

Right I know other people have asked this question but I already have a few ideas, just want to see if there are any other cars out there I may have forgotten.

Basically I have £6000 to spend on a nice car to replace my Focus. Criterea are that 60 must come in at least 8 seconds and it must have toys to fiddle with. Running costs are not really an issue (within reason). Here is my list so far:-

Mercedes C36 (seen one I want but it is in Leeds and I'm in kent )
    Mondeo ST25/200
    BMW 328i (E36 model)
    Octavia vRS
    Lexus GS300/LS400
    Audi A3/A4 1.8t
    MG ZT 190+
    Toyota Celica GT4

Right any others and what do you think of the list so far?

I have thought about a 900/93 turbo of some sort, or a C70. Problem is the Volvo really isn't my style, bit too welly boots and twead jacket, especially in the area I live in!! RX7 is a good one though.......off to the autotrader site again.

Apart from I am looking to spend 6000 and at that price there isn't much difference except badge.

Just did a quote on an RX7 and they won't touch me till I am 25 (two months to go) and even then it is over £1000. Supra is a good one though! R32 is well out of my price range is it not, wouldn't have thought that they would have fallen to that level yet. I refuse to own an Alfa!

Has to be the monedo ST200 IMO, tons of electric goodies. We had the plain V6 which was 0-60 in about 8.5s with 170hp, ST200 has 200

No he won't, and no it won't.

ST residuals are excellent - much, much better than the rest of the range and why even now £5k gets an ST200 thats 6-7 years old.

For this money, remove the ST24 from your list and focus on the ST200 - excellent cars, reasonably rare, and great looking.

Could also consider a manual BMW 528i SE (You wont get a Sport) - 0-60 6.8 seconds, 149mph.
