I passed my driving test today!

    In Florida!

My UK licence only being good enough for six months here, I finally got a chance to go to the DMV.

I passed the theory tests with 100% after skimming the Florida Drivers Handbook in the waiting room, then literally 5 minutes around the carpark and that was it. I got minor faults for not indicating when turning back into my parking space and reversing too fast. My complaint that I was only doing the 15mph speed limit in the parking lot fell on deaf ears.

It scares me that they let any 15 year old who can do this loose on the roads.

Oh, thought it was 16 all round America.

That's bad.. (especially as the test seems so easy)

Did you do the test in an auto or manual?

Auto. I had a choice of borrowing three of my friends cars. A manual Ford F150 full-size pickup; a manual Porsche 944; or an auto Hyundai Accent. I chose the Accent because thats the kind of driving an auto box is good for. The licence isn't restricted to gearbox type as in the UK.

Of course, I use the porsche for driving on the road.

The 15mph was in reverse. Maybe the examiner had a point, but all she said was keep it straight...

Ah, ok. Thought it may be restricted.

15mph reversing is a bit fast though

I saw this prgoramme when this girl was doing her thoery or whatever, and it seems so relaxed. The dad was just standing about two meters behind her and she was turning round and goiing like, 'i dunno what to doo!' etc. funny to watch, but seems very easy to cheat.
and i heard from a mate that you can do it online or something from home, is that true? surely thats mean u can just have the book open in front on you?....

Yep, you can pay more and do it online, but the test is blatently ridiculous..

    Try this: http://seacow.www7.50megs.com/test.html

    Or a real one: http://www.hsmv.state.fl.us/handbooks/English/exam.html

    3. A double solid white center line on the highway means
You are on a one-way street. Low flying aircraft.
