cracking little bike Rave.. the er is the best of the naked 500's in my eyes.. I ride an FZ6, and noticed even on a 6 month old bike that the downpipes are getting quite pitted.. just keep your eyes on them as they'll need a regular clean to keep the cr@p off them...

As far as kit goes, jeans are ok, but you'll soon get very very wet!

I bought a pair of these to go round ireland last year and put 1300 miles on them in a week, and remained pretty waterproof! Sold them when I got back as the pair of Rev' It ones that fastened to my jacket had arrived...
There a little under sized so order the next size up than you would normally want.

If you can wait until November, get yourself to the bike show in Birmingham... I picked up a Triumph Jacket & Waistcoat for £30! Waterproof and Windproof!

You've got yourself a new lid, so your sorted there.. and that just leaves the gloves.. if the ones you've got are waterproof (ish) then they'll do the job!

Take it easy mate, and think about taking some advanced training.. I've done the IAM course, and its the best £85 i've ever spent!
