Corsair Begins UK/EU RMA Processing

no if you look closely at the warranty details, it will say Duration and RTB Period
it says 60 months for both on Corsair PSUs, but if you check out EVGA products that have a very very long warranty, it says Duration 999 months, but RTB Period is only 12 months.
Which means after 12 months from purchase, you have to deal with EVGA for warranty service.

not so, as i recently learned from a Saracen MegaPost©™ you are legally entitled to return the product to the retailer/e-tailer for the full duration of the warranty for them to sort out the repair/replacement

I already have two Corsair power supplies that I'm very happy with and hopefully won't need to return. Personally I'm fine with returning them to Europe as they do have two more years warranty than most of the other manufacturers.

Very few offer a UK RMA service, although we still need to hear back from Corsair on where they will need to be sent to.

There are at least 3 top brand PSU manufacturers that RMA directly within the UK.

Right ok, I assume you realise that's not a whole lot better than the previous USA shipping address? From a buyers postage cost point of view.

well it is for those on the continent as they can go in postal trains...

and things from the UK can be put in a shipping container travel across and bobs your uncle it's there.. so its quicker than going to the US...

for a 2KG parcel to go to the Netherlands is: £24.99 for standard delivery via parcelforce.....
for a 2KG parcel to go to the USA is: £38.99 for standard delivery via parcelforce.....

but i can see where you are coming from... as it would be cheaper to sent within the UK, but it is still an improvement from shipping to the USA

Anything under 2kg (which most PSUs are not admittely) there is very little between Airmail to the USA and Airmail to the Netherlands.

For over 2kg the prices to either are very expensive as you have shown, compaired to the UK.

Indeed, it is an improvement, just not a very well thought out one considering how long it took!

Assuming scans deal is still valid it should be made clear that the 5 year warranty goes straight to them (assuming you buy it from them) avoiding any shipping costs outside of the UK, which should make it reasonable.

nah i'm not saying it's good for UK-ers but for those on the continent, but it is a slight improvement over what was in place before.. (very slight)
because as you say the postage cost are just too extortionate still...

edit: having said that you are legally entitled to return the faulty product to the retailer for the full period of the warranty, so that negates the postal prices and where it is going as it is done for you (unless in the unfortunate event that the retailer has gone bust)
but obv it's going to be easier to get some retailers to take responsibility than others

I look at the percentage of failure also, Corsair are very low compared to Enermax for example, so I take Corsair.

Maybe I've been lucky but never had a Corsair fail yet, but in the past Enermax, Tagen many times, Antec, OCZ have had failures in systems I've built used 37 Corsair in 18 months without a single failure I'm pleased with that.

I`ve had a few of these psu`s go on my customers,as stated before there is a number of `other`psu suppliers that have uk based rma service,corsair is still living in the dark ages with customer service.

Whats the point on spending £60+ on a psu when it costs you nearly half to send it back when it stops working,i know why theres no uk based rma,so people dont bother to send it back and corsair get away with not having to replace it.

Thats sound great, as I am looking at buying a Corsair, do you have any links to the part of the Scan site, where this is mentioned?
