I don't think the 300 is ugly, it's plane and quite a few people like it because it's plane looking.

However if you are after something more funky the Akasa Freedom Xone looks like a good alternative

    Scan have them for £50

The Antec 300 is a case which has an understated and clean appearance which many people like. Not everyone is into e-peen looking computers which look like a cross between the imagination of a hyperactive 10 year old and a Frog. Since I assemble my own computers I do tend to have things called screwdrivers too!

you need a screw driver to assemble tool less cases to LOL. if i remeber corectly you need to screw the rails on to the drives etc. just the fact it easier to slide them in and out.

and whats wrong with a bit off madness when it comes to looks?

Nothing. I prefer mine to look like the monoliths from 2001.
    Society's to blame,
    Or possibly Atari.

Re: Just spotted this case on Ebuyer

I know this thread isn't about which are the best budget cases but I can't help mentioning NZXT's Gamma, Beta Evo and the M59. They all cost between £30-50 and have a black interior with bottom facing PSUs and some room for cable management. IIRC they also have the "tool-less drive" things too. Beta Evo has a simpler look and the M59 has, IMO, a cool look (might be ugly to CTV ) and the Gamma is just some budget in between.

I'd love to see if NZXT releases anymore awesome budget cases like these.

Re: Just spotted this case on Ebuyer

I did mention it before, although I think that was on the ebuyer thread
the Nzxt Lexa S also seems to use the same base chassis
    http://www.nzxt.com/products/lexa_s/

Personally I don't much like the front bezle of the Gamma or Beta Evo but I do like the M59
the Lexa S is a very aquired taste, I'm not keen but I can see that some will like it.

EDIT I did mention it, even posted images, look on the first page.

Also the Akasa Freedom Xone also looks identical inside too.

EDIT2: I should know in two weeks time

I Gave up and ordered the NZXT M59, it took three attempts at routing cables to get the back cover to fit, but all looks very nice now.
Obviously didn't do my research properly, it doesn't have any 3.5" bays to fit my fan controller so have to find a new sollution.

?? I was on about circuitmonkey saying he got a m59 instead.

My order is currently on ebuyer supersaver delivery along with an mp3 player to make it up to £50

However, the cases are still not yet in stock

Re: Just spotted this case on Ebuyer

Need to get some Enermax Apollish fans and a new cooler then I'll be ready to upload pics of my M59 xD

Haven't got much time to upload it all and stuff though but I'll see haha.

Took it with my phone camera though (5MP) but my mum got a new camera so I'll probs use it when I get a new cooler/fan. I'm happy there's just about 160mm of height for a new cooler but it's a shame play won't stock the Hyper 212+.
