I've just sat here going through your build from page one to this and wow, what a build. I did make me chuckle at the fact its taken so long to do (if a jobs worth doing etc..) that you have changed so many parts of PC. Still very very impressive stuff.
Glad you enjoyed the read.
As for time scale, this was always going to take a long time as I changed jobs just after this build began. (less time off)
And changing parts, don't tell Mrs P as she things its all the same equipment
The cabling on the underside of the case is just as neat as the rest of the build
The bottom panel is held on with black 4mm button headed bolts
The feet are attached by screws through the bottom plate
All four feet are attached the same way
The rear panel is attached to the frame with the motherboard section
All the power cables for the fans & pumps come through the cut out in the centre deviding plate
These cables then run up the side of the motherboard panel
They come through the top of the motherboard panel where the fan controllers will be fitted
140mm fans are fitted in the front of the frame with 5mm countersunk screws
Also 140mm fans fitted in the rear
All the braided fan cables come out to the fan controllers & DVD drive
Test fitting of the front panel
As you can imagine, Mrs P is not a happy woman coming home to this
Crikey it's HUGE! Great thread, must be nice almost having it built up after so long?
Will be nice to have a proper case again & Mrs P will have to find something else to moan about
As for size, the dimensions are very similar to what you would have if you purchased a mountain mods case
I think this build would impress Nikola Tesla. Can't wait to see the finished article.
Had a new CMStorm Trigger keyboard delivered this morning, so thought I would do an update just to ensure it is working
Placed the panel behind the motherboard section so all the power cables are hidden
Attached the PSU to the rear panel & run all the cables into the false panel
Bulk head fitting used to bridge the gap between the rear of the motherboard tray & false panel
Placed the hard drive caddy on the centre divider & attached with bolts from underneath.
Placed sticky velcro discs on the side of the drive caddy so the cover will stay in place.
Placed the cover over the top of the drive caddy so everything is hidden from sight
Top rad fitted with pipe work running down behind the PSU & through the centre divider plate
Once side now completed
I think it looks quite neat but I would say that
Is that three 120x4 rads in there in total? All rigged in push/pull? So 24 fans!?
And I thought I was a nutter with Cunning Plan! (which is still ongoing, btw, just need to put some time and money into finishing it off...)
Looks lovely, but good lord that's a huge case - hate to think what it weighs...
Yep, 3 rads, 3 pumps & 24 fans (+ all the fans that do the case cooling.)
I think that should keep everything nice & cool
Getting better by the update mate!
Craftsmanship!
nice work man
