Resistance PS3

I'm think of gettin this game on launch in the UK next month but wanted to hear some first hand reviews before I do so. Its received good ratings on the main websites like gamespot and gametrailers but has anyone here played it? Please comment !

I only have the demo and have played that a bit.

Have to say, it looks rather nice, although I'm absolutely pants at it Years of FPS with a mouse makes transition to a joypad a little tricky With a bit of practice, I suppose I'd enjoy it a lot

Also, the bullets that fly around are kind of "laser bolt" speeds. If you're really quick, you can dodge incomming fire. Whilst it gives you the ability to be fancy and avoid stuff which I like, some people find it removes realism...

Not played it personally, but it does look very nice. If I was picking up a PS3, I'd definitely pick up that and Motorstorm on launch.

it's "old skool" in a bad way - a completely uninspiring snapshot of 5-10 year old shooters, like unreal 2 or die hard nakatomi plaza

I saw the new site they released for it when it got released in europe and that really helped answer most of my questions, the game really is amazin, def recommend it to people. thanks again guys.

completed it last night, it is a blindin game and thats coming from somone who loves pc games , bf2142,stalker,oblivion ... but i did really enjoy resistance but on hd tv only its not as enjoyable on 480standard, so its worth buying and going through.

I think the PS3 is loosing out on the fact that it has an army of idiotic fan boys very badly advocating it.

But fact is, i think as a peice of hardware is vastly better than the 360. Its so much quieter. Its truely many DB quieter. Its got a hi-def player built in, that unlike the 360 dosen't sound like an approach path at heathrow.

Problem is, titles are far too scarse for now.

Resistance is a great game, and for people like me, who have little free time and are only going to have time for one game a month anyway. The PS3 is winning, the 360 hasn't been used for weeks.

If i could only keep 2 consoles, it would be the Wii and the PS3. Wii for if i'm not on my own. If i'm billy no mates, the ps3 is fine, resistance is keeping me very nicely entertained, and when i want a quick blast, i've got lemmings

Yep have to say i am loving the PS3

1. Real proper HD
2. Blue-Ray player that is worth more than the cost of the PS3 itself. Film play back is amazing.
3. and quiet
4. Free online play.

A winner.

two of my mates at work have both xbox and PS3 and confirm that the xbox is practically unused now.

it is worth buying but i only played it on hi def round friends cus when i got home and played it on 480s i couldnt enjoy it as much, (in process of getting hd-tv), but then i think you missing out on the full experience by just playing on norm tv.

no not number of games cus i'm a pc gamer at heart so im spoiled for choice, the xbox has got lots more games but the quality of the ps3 exclusive titles is gonna be far superior, u dont need names you should already know what titles im on about.!!!! i prefer the ps cus not having to pay for online use!! its quieter it dosent heat my house as much as xbox, having to use extra optical lead for digital, want to watch hd films go and buy another player, the ps pad yes is miles better not sixaxis but the style/comfort. blutooth!! you could go on!! the fact that epic got the most out of 360 with gears of war already.. i have played gears i did complete gears, it is a good game but........360 still sux.

my ps3 cost me £300 its a U.S version, had it for about 2 months, i got 200 for me xbox and £150 for an old pc sitting around so there's the bargin. i would def NOT spend £450 uk price!! and there is the only let down of ps3, but then there making a couple of hundred dollars loss on every ps3, and with a 10year expected lifespan. its very debaitable.

by caring about the hardware at all, your argument is flawed

a "gaming lover" would care about the games, and not care about the accessories such as consoles or computers needed to play them

Exactly directhex, and the best game the console has is gears of war!! which i have completed, because i CARED for it... but there's not enough to keep me with the console, i would of rather have kept it but i just cant see it competing with ...resident evil 5, gran turismo HD, mgs4...etc, and if you have spotted directhex im more intrested in the games!!!TBH im more intrested in getting to 50,000 on bf2142, completing stalker, now with oblivion finished - shivering isle, than playing any xbox game but motorstorm, resistance and rigde racer 7 has been dragging me away from that.. and for you t not care about the hardware then you might as well stick with ya snes cus its ALL ABOUT THE HARDWARE..... crysis is all im saying lets see the xbox's hardware play that!!!!
if your accessories are crap your gonna be stuck with the times!!

Its really not about the hardware at all. Check the original Xbox and PS2, Xbox was more powerful but it had less choice of games and new to the market so it sold less. Thats not the only example, through out the last 10-15 people have gone where the best games are and what there friends have NOT what is the fastest or biggest number of transistors or gigawatt processing only geeks care about that. Having read your post again it seems your a populist since you say its all about the hardware and that you are only interested in the games, which is it sonny?

And about the games, every single game you are looking for are the tired sequels (and in some cases sequel of sequels) that is stagnating the industry and putting sales predictions down.

As for Crysis, its confirmed for Xbox360 so it will work right?

Oh and accessories are what you use to play the game with, not the unit that houses the CPU that is called a console.
