Connecting Xbox 360 to computer

Hey guys im trying to connect my 360 to my computer via a wireless router but it wont work. i think i have forwarded all the necessary ports but with no luck. I also downlaoded the programme from xbox but it wont work either lol

Any ideas?

you have a 360 wireless adaptor i presume?
i dont think the zune software you need to connect to a pc supports wireless atm. you would have to create a bridge network between your 360 and pc.

Is it just for media sharing or do you want to share the computers internet connection too?

I've successfully set up my mates to stream music, DivX's etc from PC to wireless.

Is this the sort of thing you want to do?

yes i want to steam movies and stuff however i am not using a wireless adapter. It is connected via enthernet cable to my router and the same from my pc to router. I followed all the xbox FAQ etc with no luck

I think the main reason im doing it is because after only getting the 360 i have found myself bored with it. It was rather underwhelming for meto be honest so im just trying to get it to do everything it can before i put it in the cupboard and dont look at it.

Stick your Internal IP for the Xbox360 into the DMZ within the router and then retry.

I had exactly the same issues with mine as the UPnP was playing up before I fixed it by updating the router with a firmware update.

To stream video's to your 360 the PC will need XP Media centre or Vista as the OS. Otherwise the connect software will only allow music and photos to be streamed.

I'm assuming that MS haven't made any changes to the system since i set mine up. Plus the fact your going by the Xbox faq i'm assuming that your not running 3rd party apps.

TVersity allows u to stream divx with win XP. I'll dig out a link to the guide in a bit!

REALLY? ^^^ WOW NOW IM REALLY NOT IMPRESSED WITH THE 360!! lol sorry but really this is just another reason for them to push there ****ty vista os! Well i think that ill just sell the 360 lol. cause at the minute i have no use for it.

If you use the 3rd party app, TVersity, you can stream DivX movies, etc from Windows XP to the 360. My mate uses it.
