imo they should have added wireless to the elite.
if it was quieter and had hddvd/wireless I would sell my 360 premium to get 1.
The hard drive is 6 times bigger than the regular premium hard drive though, and it's in black, and only £20 more than the premium used to be, that's an absolute bargain, especially seeing as the 120Gb hard drive separately is so expensive. I agree that it should have wireless in it though, but HD-DVD I think is pointless in a console that doesn't use it for games.
Does the data transfer cable come with the Elite or do you have to buy it separately?
Also does anyone know if when you transfer the data from the 360 to the Elite does the data also remain on the 360’s hard drive as well as being transferred to the Elite?
Ta guys
I'd like one as there are demo's I'd like to keep and just have to delete to make room for new ones. However, will it develop dvd drive tray sticking again like my current one does.. I'm quite interested in the halo 3 xbox which has been priced at the same price as the elite, and does look very neat with its paintjob!
The hard drive being bigger isn't a good reason to upgrade. So what about it being bigger I won't even fill the one I've got now as I don't use it for anything other than saved games and downloading the odd game and demo which doesn't take up much space. It's all very good it being black as well but what makes it elite? As someone pointed out the premium is being released with HDMI so it's pointless unless they intergrated wifi and an HD DVD into it.
With downloadable TV and movie content coming out this year (in HD) I really don't think that a 120Gb drive will be such a bad idea. Obviously it would be better if you could just buy one on it's own though.
EDIT: I just remembered that you can buy a 120gb on it's own lol. My bad
... currently selling for the princely sum of about £120!
I picked up my Elite console from Virgin on Friday, and the the insane pricing didn't stop there. All "Elite" accessories ( ie: black ) were £10 more expensive than "Standard" ones... including the £10 rechargeable battery packs, which makes them £20 for the Elite version.
