PS3 overtakes 360 in entire PAL region !

Yup, I have a PS3 slim and currently on my third 360 after Red Ring of Deaths striking my previous two. (Both replaced by Microsoft under warranty)

Is the PS3 still cheaper than the 360? I dont mean the bottom spec, but the 'required' spec?

IE by the time you add wireless, HD and live subs to the 360 is it still more expensive?

Well the lvie and wireless aren't a factor for me, neither me nor my brother play online using the 360.

I got the PS3 with two games and a 250Gb Hard Drive for..I cant remember, was a decent price at the time.

Why add wireless? Some people do use regular network plugs

If you want to be picky it's £60 for draft n, £60 for a 60gb HDD and 3 months live, on top of a £120 console with 3 games... it's cheaper than the ps3 still

I think so, also you don't "need" all those things, the Silver Live is free and I use a CAT5 cable for my Internet Connection.

TBh i don't think anyone would choose to use the wireless on either console unless necessary. The PS3 is downstairs with the router upstairs and so wireless is the only option - downloads take an age over wifi w/ the PS3 compared to hardwired PC/360. Even with the 100% signal strength it says i should be hitting 14Mb/s when infact its around 4 :\ then theres also the added latency of wireless :/

Thing is, you will seldom get the quote/ actual speed of your connection unless you live extremely close to the exchange, I live quite a distance from the exchange, the PS3 is on Wireless and I dont notice the downloads/ updates taking an age.

I recieve around 24Mb on VM's 20Mb package, only time it dips below this is when I'm greedy with the bandwith between certain hours, i did google the issue and theres quite a few threads on the official forums.

How the f!! do you get 4Mb more than you are supposed to have! I want some of that!

Yeah, Virgin throttle connections between certain times I think it's like 6pm and mid night.
So if I ever need to download an update or mod for a game and it isn't important that I have the mod or update, I start it usually at mid night, let it finish, then go bed.

I'm one of those who recently got a PS3 - it's quite nice and cool for everything but when it comes down to gaming I still prefer the 360 - for now - and that's coming from someone who had a PS1 and PS2.

I think it helps too the fact that I have a lot more friends who own a 360 rather than a PS3.

I reckon the 360 would boost sales largely if they had a price cut on the current lineup, and introduced a 360 slim type of device with maybe built in wifi for the price point of the current Elite. That would be pretty nice

I have a 360 but would consider buying a ps3 if it wasn't for all the peripherals i have for my 360 steering wheels drums guitars mics and so on.

I love my 360 but i love my PC more.

I've joined the ranks of the PS3 owners now, just need to find a way to hook up the 360 controller to it

The PS controller is gonna take a little getting used to... doesn't help when the games i've tried all have dodgy control layouts. Just why is it racing games on the PS don't use the analogue triggers for accelerate and brake, it's far easier than thee second stick? And the trigger isn't used to fire in shooters? This could get confusing....

I'll give it a proper go when i get my component cable, looks like crap through the scart lead so trying to be patient so i can enjoy uncharted 2 in all it's glory.

theres a controller thing you can get so that you can use your 360 pad with the ps3, very handy indeed ive had the 360...but i prefer the ps3 more i think its better value for money, free internet (which is not crap it works fine for me!) free wireless card(which TO is not crap) blueray drive or the little bits and bobs i need.....and its not noisy like my 360 was still i would pick the 360 controller any day, consoles yes the ps3 is a better one, better hardware/speed but....its all down to what you own i think.....most people if they can only afford a 360 will say that it is better, but if you own a ps3 then you will say it is better...there is no "better" console, its choice, im so fed up reading "my 360 is better then your crappy overpriced ps3" or "dirtbox 360s are crap my ps3 has loads more in it" god people grow up get over it and enjoy your console, if you dont like the other one then dont bl""dy play it lol

Isnt the PS3 platform a lot more difficult and expensive to develop on?

I dont have either console as both seem to be riddled with quite serious problems that cause them to die and the only thing i would get one for anyway would be racing games (forza/GT). PCs are just so much more flexible!

Well I've had the PS3 since day 1, and originally I would have said the Xbox 360 was better. But now (after 100000 updates) it has a slick UI, online play is good, tons of games available, its great as media player (blu ray, streaming, etc) and now price wise its competitive. So I would say it edges out the 360. That's my opinion though and they both great consoles.

But no console is better then my beloved Sega Dreamcast. I still play it.
