Do all HD DVD's have the ordinary DVD version too?

Do all HD DVD's have the ordinary DVD version too?

Sorry if its a silly question... but i just want to make sure!

I currently only have a standard DVD player, but i'm looking at going for the Samsung BD-UP5000 when it finally emerges later this year.
I'm looking at getting Batman Begins which doesn't say whether it has the standard DVD version that'll play in my old player for the time being until i get the Samsung. However the new release "300" clearly states it is both HD DVD *and* standard DVD.
I was under the impression all HD DVDs had the Standard version on too.

Thanks for any clarity on this.

Some are, most aren't. They're double-sided, one side has HDDVD, other has DVD. I think they call it HD-DVD Hybrid or something

Out of all the HD DVD's I have, only The Matrix Trilogy and 300 are double sided. The Matrix just has bonus features on the other side while 300 has the normal DVD movie on the flipside.

Yeah, only some HD-DVDs are "Combo" disks with the movie - but you've really answered your own question. If it says the DVD edition is there, you're sorted, if it doesn't it's tough I'm afraid.

Batman Begins is just the HD-DVD.
