Who else is impatient to see Alien Vs Predator Movie?

The trailer looked good.

The story sounds cheap though:

A team of scientists investigating the discovery of ancient pyramids in Antarctica stumble across a seemingly new species that are born through people's chests. As deadly as these aliens are, there is another species lurking around, that being the Predators. happy to have had someone uncover the Aliens: a group of five teenage Predators, following a tradition wherein young Predators come to Earth every thousand years to go through their hunting rituals to reach manhood (or die horribly). The humans on the scene have to just hope they don't join them...

I thought the 1st Alien contact was on the Planet LV-xxx, inside that Alien Spaceship filled up with eggs.
Now they changed to earth it self?

An early version of the script was closer in spirit to the video games, following scientists in the far future on a distant planet who experiment with Alien eggs in an effort to attract Predators to come there as a hunting ground, but that whole storyline has now been scrapped.

I still think Alien 1 & 2 movies, are the best of the series.
Aliens VS Predator 2 PC game had excellent atmosphere.
Alien Vs Predator CPS-2 Arcade game was so fun.

Should prolly be in the film section but yeah im lookin forward to it, was discussin it in the pub tonight. if they set it after ressurection and the books then its entirely possible to loosley piece together the story. As in the series of books aliens did start to populate earth and in one of the books predators did use the arctic as a hunting ground.

The problem here is that they say scientists discover a "new species" implying it's set before these events and before all the films unless they use the "the military covered up all existence of aliens as they wanted to use them as a bio-weapon" excuse to get round it.

Even so, the plot seems to have more hole's than a homless guys pants tbh, lets just hope it makes a good film.

It'll be the most castrated clump of goop ever - a 12????? Why, oh why do they do this with Franchise films?!!

It could well be entertaining (in the same sense T3), but FFS, lowering cert-18 films (2 of em!) to a cert-12 is just not on imo.

aye your right there..but the US version of T3 had nudity in it near the start so go import the US dvd

as for AvP it sounds like a cool movie - they can easily get around the aliens not being discovered on LV-XX thing as no-one in the films actaully said that was the first place they were found - it could be that they were found on earth by weyland-utini [or however u spell it ] but they all died/ran away or whatever, so they began looking for more

i think they should have started the story where alien ressurection left off

ie ripley and chums crash land back on earth unwittingly harbouring a small army of facehuggers...

(well if that big monster thingy managed sneak onboard, then at least around 20 facehuggers could snuck onboard as well)

at the end of predator 2, the predator( s ) teleport off somewhere, the one who gave danny glover that old gun could warped to the future...you know that sort of thing...is that better or is that better...makes sense...if you ask me...

even though i knew this director would let the series down i still wanna see it tho...

i thought resi evil s*cked ba*ls, and so by this director undertaking the avp movie he's risking tarnishing the untouchable aliens and the predator movie's records, i personally feel ridlel scott should have directed it

They did the whole face hugger sneaking on board thing to do alien 3 so to do it again would be pushing they're luck. Dunno about the predators and time travel either. the problem is theres so much story written around the alien and predator movies and so many spin off's that to keep continuity with everythin is damn near impossible.

Resi evil wasn't bad but it wasn't all too great either james cameron should be directing it but he was gonna do an alien 5 iirc but then refused to if fox made avp.

Didnt watch any of the Terminator for the birds or nudity Why bother introducing what people seem to think is a fit bird into it.

Point is, instead of seeing guts being ripped, or any resemblence to violent horrificness that either film franchise can produce, we're going to be greeted by Predators bitch slappin Aliens (or the other way round)

Tho I should really hold judgement until after Ive seen it but at least now I dont have my hopes up when watching it.

Most awaited movie of the year for me. I've always been a big fan of aliens and predator as well as the games. This is top on my list. Apparently they're making another aliens movie with signourey weaver in again

and the last film was a good way to finish the saga off.

Nah, the last one was imo very similar to T3 it was left nicely open ended, plus aliens on earth would be awesome
