New Earphones Required

I've recently got a Cowan iAudio M3 MP3 player that came with some Cresyn AXE2 earphones. I think there are a few things wrong with them, so I'm thinking about replacing them.

* They're too big for my little ears

* I want to have them plugged into my MP3 players' remote which I want clipped onto my trouser pocket. With my current earphones, they don't quite reach my ears

Can anyone suggest a cheapish alternative please. I know nothing about earphones, so going out looking might mean I end up in a similar situation after purchasing. Opinions are often better than descriptions anyway .

I'm hoping to spend ~£10 (or less).

richer sounds have a nice selection of cheap headphones here

i'd spend a little ore on them tho, ive heard good things about the mx500's for £20, but i use the px100's for £30 theyre lovely headphones for the money and fold into a little plastic box so they dont get broken in the bottom of your bag.

get seinheisser headphone, they are great at about your price range, maybe mx450 or even mx500??

spend £17 and get a set of sony fontopias from ebay, they will blow your mind with quality and sound blocking. well worth every single penny at £35 high-street price, let alone ebay price.

I've heard about lifespan issues with the Fonotopias, apparently the connection in the ear buds are pretty weak and dont take long to break, but then I guess its all down to how you treat them

i've not heard that.. i've had my set for 3 years now and still going strong

Looking at amazon and just general internet, I've found that there are a few models of these sony ones as far as I can tell. There's the ones you were talking about, and a few sets of cheaper ones.

I'm thinking about getting the £14.99 ones. The only thought I've had is that one of the reviews for the £7.99 ones said that people around them can also hear the music play, and I obviously don't want that. Do you think I'd be OK going with that one?

Well, I think I've decided I'd like to get clip on ear type ones now. Maybe the ones in trippledences' post.

I've got the Sony EX-70LP which have lasted me a good 5 years now. My first pair I blew in under 2 months accidetally plugging them into my Minidisc with the volume set too high but I got a replacement pair under warranty.

Great earbuds better than the EX71's only now has the rubber started to perish a bit and I need a new pair in the next year. Shame the only option is the EX71's I want another pair of EX-70's however I'm going to try out Sony's noise cancelling ear buds, but they look a tad bulky.

I bought some Panasonic RP-HJE50s off of ebay. They are pretty good, I had Sony MDR-ED31LPs before, they are about the same, but I found I needed to tweak the base up a notch and the highs down. I've had Panasonics before, I believe its just because the the Pany engineers prefer a different sound to those of Sony or Sennheiser as the sound doesn't distort with those EQ settings. I would have bought the MD31LPs again if Sony would stop using that awful 'anti-tangle' cable.

They seem to be a lot of mediocre reviews about them. But I think these are from people who:

1. Compare them to Noise Cancelling systems like the Bose Quietcomfort headphones

2. Are not used to silcon buds:
-a lot of complaints about their fit
-resounding sound in ear canal

I'm used to silcon buds and don't expect them to live up to proper headphones, these are for on the move.

The version I purchase is the NC11A which are supposed to be better than the originals. They were shipped today and I'll try do some sort of review.

At least they'll cancel out the noise of my PC fans
