Fireworks

Well, it's taken me long enough to manage to sign up here. So this be my first post.

Fireworks I shot last night at a private party.










Not got round to adding borders etc.

Hope you like them.

There's nothing private about any fireworks show. Ever. Unless you had it in the middle of a huge (massive) estate, all of which you own...

Regardless, nice shots.

What sort of exposure lengths were you using? The Exif doesn't say...

And how were you focusing? I found it faster to use MF...

Odd, dunno where the EXIF went.

Well, it was in the middle of a cemetry, there weren't many people around, not alive anyway

Manual Focus to Infinity all the way

Exposures were generally 6 to 10 seconds with the Aperture around F10 to F16.

I used a tripod, but no remote release and the rockets all varied with how long they took after being lit, so I gave up on trying to use the timer. So unfortunately there is a slight wobble to some of them. It was very windy aswell as rainy - I have quite a few that came out pretty nice except for big spots of rain on the lens

Thats my favourite aswell, minimal shaking, and not much wind blowing it sideways

It's actually being used as my desktop background at the moment

Call me weird, but I actually prefer a little wind blur in fireworks... Not too much, though...

I couldn't get anything worth bothering with last night, there was too much cloud cover, so everything had a nasty orange sky from the streetlight bouncing off the clouds

I'll second that, the last 2 are great shots.
All I get when taking photos of firework or cars are black-covered photos simply because my reaction isn't fast enough.
