    Question Cleaning Up Vhs Tapes To Burn To Dvd

    Can Anyone Tell Me The Best Software/hardware For Cleaning Up [removing] Tracking Lines From Vhs tapes Prior To Converting Them On To Dvd?

    I reckon you'd be best to use an encoder that supports avisynth scripts, and write a script to scan the video and clean up/smooth over/up scale the resolution to dvd standard. It should be able to put out a dvd compliant mpeg2 video for you.

    Have a look at the avisynth and mpeg2 forums over at doom9 for some better advice on the steps to take.
