    @Pob255

Yeah I read about that fan, nothing mentioned it was noisy at all. I like the idea though, spreading some air to the components next to the CPU seems like a good idea but the reviews didn't seem to be as interested in the fan.

Considering Arctic Cooling's other heatsinks and the good job they've done with their fans on my TWIN TUBRO Pro I'd be inclined to believe it won't be noisy. They rate the ACF13P at 300W cooling capacity(very optimistic) and the noise at 0.4 stone(wtf kind of measurement is that!?) which is only 0.1 stone more than my VGA cooler which is completely silent compared to anything else I've used.

For me, because I've used their other products, I'd be happy to try it over the other options. I'm considering purchasing the ACF13P to put into my Aunt's PC to make it completely silent, currently the stock cooler from AMD is spoiling the quality fans on the case I built the system in.

    Re: Best Value Air Cooler

    Don't forget the Gelid Tranquillo

Awesome cooler and quiet to boot.

Might not be the coolest cooler when you're pushing 4.6ghz and beyond, but for a 4.0ghz overclock it will be more than enough.

If you're able to push your budget a little bit beyond £30.... try the Be Quiet Dark Rock Pro. Looks awesome and is a great cooler beyond 4.6ghz to boot!

    Re: Best Value Air Cooler

Researched the reviews and decided the Hyper 212+ and TX3 EVO for a smaller case were the best budget coolers.

    Re: Best Value Air Cooler

The Hyper 212+ has been superseded by the Hyper 212 EVO, improved fan, wire clips replaced by a plastic shroud attachment and improved heatpipe contact (gaps between them is reduced and they been flattened more to increase the contact area)

For a shorter cooler I'd still highly rate the Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro

    Re: Best Value Air Cooler

The Hyper 212 EVO is definately a great cooler, used it on my dad's PC to keep his i3 cool and quiet. It can also cope quite well with a modest overclock I've found, had no problems keeping temps down.

best one to date, and i mean for a very long time is thermalright ultra rev c. Used costs pennies, and you get incredible cooling power.

    Re: Best Value Air Cooler

Waiting for one of these bad boys to be delivered today:

    thermalright hr-02 macho

Went for this as apparently it cools great and is quiet but I am also going to experiment with using only case fans for cooling and using the macho passiveley. Will let you guys know how I get on!
